Nok Air flies to aid of flood victims

Nok Air has its planes transporting flood victims from Ubon Ratchathani in the Northeast to a Bangkok hospital for emergency treatment.

In an arrangement with Bangpakok 9 International Hospital, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, the airline is helping people afflicted by severe flooding triggered this month by tropical storms Podul and Kajiki.
CEO Wutthiphum Jurangkul said Nok Air was also establishing a disaster-assistance centre in the province to provide direct aid.
“There has never been a time when Nok Air has not had a presence in the wake of any disaster facing Thailand,” he said.
Nok Air will consider extending assistance to other provinces afflicted, he said, adding that 60 airfares had also been offered to staff of the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to save them travel time.
