Asian stock markets mixed
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,586.90 today (January 14), an increase of 0.74 points and 0.05 per cent over the previous day.
The daily trade volume was Bt60.30 billion, with an index high of 1,592.84 and a low of 1,579.83.
Tisco Reseach predicts that the SET Index will rise due to a tariff agreement between the US and China, as well as Thailand’s House of Representatives passing the draft budget bill for fiscal year 2020.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan’s Nikkei Index closed at 24,025.17, up 174.60 points, or 0.73 per cent. China’s Shanghai SE Composite Index ended the day at 3,106.82, down 8.75 points, or 0.28 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index closed at 28,885.14, down 69.80 points, or 0.24 per cent, South Korea’s KOSPI ended at 2,238.88, up 9.62 points, or 0.43 per cent, and Taiwan’s TAIEX closed at 12,179.81, up 66.39 points, or 0.55 per cent.
