Another virus victim goes home healthy

Another Covid-19 coronavirus victim in Thailand has fully recovered and was discharged from hospital on Wednesday (February 12), the Department of Disease Control reported.

“The number of confirmed cases in Thailand remains the same as yesterday at 33,” director-general Dr Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai said.
“The number of confirmed people under hospital care is 22, while 11 have recovered and been released.”
Three victims – among the Thais flown home from besieged Wuhan in China – are well on the path of full recovery at Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital in Chonburi, he said.
“They are awaiting the results of a final exam and if they test negative, they will be allowed to go home without having to join the 136 other Thai evacuees from Wuhan being kept under observation until February 19 at the Royal Thai Navy’s quarantine facilities.”
Wednesday’s overall tally was 799 “patients under investigation” so far, with 587 already cleared and released and 212 under observation in hospital.
“It’s a good sign that the number of people discharged is greater than that of people still under care, Suwanchai said.
“However, Thailand is still an at-risk territory where residents might easily interact with Chinese tourists.”
