Budget approval boosts SET

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,395.08 today (February 27), up 28.67 points (2.10 per cent) from the end of trade on Wednesday with Bt74.552 billion in total transactions.

The index touched  a high of 1,397.69 and a low of 1,355.63 in the day's trading.
Krungsri Securities expected  a rebound of the index after His Majesty the King's  approval of the Bt3.2 trillion Budget Act for fiscal 2020, boosting sentiments in the Thai  economy.
The top ten stocks with the highest trade values were AOT, BAM, CRC, PTT, KBANK, GULF, ADVANC, BDMS, CPALL, and SCB.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan’s Nikkei index closed at 21,948.23, down 477.96 points, or 2.13 per cent.
China’s Shanghai SE Composite index closed at 2,991.33, up 3.40 points, or 0.11 per cent, while Shenzhen SE Component index closed at 11,534.02, up 36.47 points, or 0.32 per cent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed at 26,778.62, up 82.13 points, or 0.31 per cent.
South Korea’s KOSPI index closed at 2,054.89, down 21.88 points, or 1.05 per cent.
Taiwan’s TAIEX index closed at 11,292.17, down 141.45 points, or 1.24 per cent.
