The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications (NBTC) has approved a campaign to provide free 10GB of mobile broadband data per person to promote working from home during the Covid-19 outbreak, NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tanthasit said on Wednesday (April 1).

“Originally we had planned to have interested people register between April 2-9 through the website, but we decided to change the procedure,” said Takorn. “Users will no longer have to register on the website as mobile operators will handle the registration process by verifying USSD code sent by users.”
To get your free 10GB data, simply send *170*(13 digits of your ID card number)# from your mobile phone, and in 3-5 minutes the operator will confirm that you get the free data.
“The free data will be valid for one month since the day you receive confirmation. You can start sending the code from April 10 onwards,” added Takorn. “One person can send the code only once.”
