A 44-year-old woman, who runs a stereo equipment shop in Hat Yai district and one of those selected to receive the handout, said Bt5,000 had been transferred to her PromptPay account at 2.21am on Wednesday (April 8).

“At first I was not sure if it was the promised cash assistance because I thought first there would be a message about whether one had met the criteria. But the money came straight into the account and a PromptPay message stated "transfer of monthly aid of Bt5,000", which must be the cash assistance promised by the government.
