Thailand’s 20 or so richest families have answered Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s letter seeking help by presenting details on the projects they have developed and will develop to tackle the impact of Covid-19, said deputy government spokesperson Rachada Thanadirek.

She said the Cabinet has been informed of the response and the government will see how these projects can be supported or collaborated with.
Prayut recently wrote to the country’s 20 richest citizens calling on them to help him tackle the impact the outbreak has had on the society and economy.
After meeting with the Cabinet on Tuesday (May 5), Prayut said that apart from seeking collaboration from the tycoons, he has also sought collaboration from small- and medium-sized businesses to join the missing of tackling the crisis.
He added that the crisis may last for another six to nine months and the government will take steps to deal with it.
