Ratchaburi unveils ‘new normal’ at famed tourist attractions

Visitors to Ratchaburi are experiencing the “new normal” as the province’s world-famous attractions reopen after lockdown.

Social distancing and other safety measures are operating at Damnoen Saduak floating market and Kao Chon waterfall (Khao Jones), part of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s campaign to boost confidence among tourists.
Visitors are expected to flock back to the province, 100 kilometres west of Bangkok, when discounts under the government’s tourism stimulus scheme launch next month.
"Ratchaburi has implemented the new ‘Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration’ measures of taking visitors' temperatures, providing sanitising gels, social distancing, and installing air purifiers [at some attractions]," said Sareeya Boonmak, director of TAT’s Ratchaburi office.
Meanwhile tourists could request information quickly via the Line app from the new @TATratchaburi account, in addition to the usual phone and Facebook page services.
"Right now, many tourists are asking for information about the Nine Waterfall or Khao Jones in Suan Phung district. We can assure them that Ratchaburi attractions and hotels are now open," she said.
"In addition, hotels and tourists attractions have implemented Covid-19 preventive measures to boost confidence among tourists."
She added that 45 regional TAT offices were ready to provide information for tourists every day from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
