Seven Thai returnees found positive in state quarantine

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration today (September 10) reported seven cases in state quarantine over a 24-hour period. All new cases are Thai returnees

.Four men and one woman returned from Saudi Arabia on September 5 and then tested positive for the virus on September 8. And a mother with her 2-year-old boy, who came home from India on September 6, also tested positive on September 8.

Meanwhile, 24 patients have recovered and been discharged.

As of today, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand stands at 3,454 (516 in state quarantine). Of these, 86 are in hospital, 3,310 have recovered and been discharged and 58 have died.

According to Worldometer, as of 10am the number of confirmed cases globally has passed 28 million. Of these, 20 million have recovered, 60,533 are in severe condition and 907,982 have died.

Thailand ranks a safe 122nd for most cases in the world. The US has the most number, with 6.54 million, followed by India (4.46 million), Brazil (4.19 million), Russia (1.04 million) and Peru (702,776).
