Two foreigners, 8 returnees found positive in state quarantine

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration today (September 16) reported ten cases in state quarantine over a 24-hour period.

The latest cases are:
> A one-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman who returned from India on August 1 and went into quarantine in Chon Buri. Both were found positive on September 14.
> Three men (aged 24, 25, 31) and a woman (26) – all students – who came home from Yemen on September 11 and entered quarantine in Bangkok. They tested positive on September 14.
> Two men (aged 37 and 47), who returned from Indonesia on September 3 and went into quarantine in Bangkok. Both were found positive on September 14.
> A 42-year-old Myanmar woman who entered Thailand on September 9 and went into an alternative quarantine hotel in Bangkok. She tested positive on September 13.
> A 19-year-old Ethiopian female flight attendant, who arrived in Thailand on September 11 and stayed in alternative state quarantine in Samut Prakan. She was found positive on September 14.

Meanwhile, one patient has recovered and been discharged in the past 24 hours.

As of today, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand stands at 3,480 (542 in state quarantine). Of these, 107 are in hospital and 3,315 have recovered and been discharged. The death toll remains unchanged at 58.

According to Worldometer, as of 10 am the number of confirmed cases has increased to 29.7 million (by 278,856 in 24 hours). Of these, 21.53 million have recovered, 60,907 are in severe condition and 939,140 have died.

Thailand ranks a safe 128th for most cases in the world. The US has the most number, with 6.78 million, followed by India (5 million), Brazil (4.38 million), Russia (1.07 million) and Peru (738,020).
