Flooding affects over 1 million households in 30 provinces and Bangkok

Floodwaters have affected 1,177,404 households and 3,352,395 people, with levels rising in much of central and eastern Thailand.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported ongoing flooding in 30 provinces and Bangkok on Thursday (October 1, 2026), affecting 1,177,404 households and 3,352,395 people.

The affected areas covered 191 districts, 1,228 subdistricts and 8,714 villages, according to data from DDPM’s Disaster Management Center as of 6am on October 1.

DDPM director-general Nirat Pongsittithavorn attributed the flooding to recent heavy to very heavy rain in several areas, combined with water discharged from the North joining water already in the Central region.

Northern provinces

In Phitsanulok, flooding affected 3 households in one district, 2 subdistricts and 2 villages.

Phetchabun had 82 affected households in 6 districts, 9 subdistricts and 19 villages, while Kamphaeng Phet had 6,122 affected households in 8 districts, 47 subdistricts and 331 villages.

Water levels were falling in all three provinces.

Flooding in Nakhon Sawan affected 9,546 households in 11 districts, 65 subdistricts and 368 villages, with water levels rising.

Central region

Uthai Thani had 4,785 affected households in 8 districts, 56 subdistricts and 413 villages.

In Lopburi, 1,657 households were affected in 5 districts, 23 subdistricts and 84 villages.

Chai Nat had 1,581 affected households in 7 districts, 38 subdistricts and 168 villages.

Water levels were rising in all three provinces.

Sing Buri had 974 affected households in 3 districts, 3 subdistricts and 11 villages.

Flooding in Suphan Buri affected 18,987 households in 9 districts, 92 subdistricts and 667 villages.

Kanchanaburi had 9,635 affected households in 13 districts, 90 subdistricts and 884 villages, with 2 deaths.

Water levels were rising in all three provinces.

In Ang Thong, flooding affected 298 households in 3 districts, 8 subdistricts and 24 villages, with water levels rising.

Saraburi had 5,393 affected households in 13 districts, 87 subdistricts and 566 villages, with one death and falling water levels.

DDPM’s figures for Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya listed 42,286 affected households in 13 districts, 167 subdistricts and 1,081 villages.

One death was reported, and water levels were rising.

Samut Prakan had 307,704 affected households in 6 districts, 38 subdistricts and 382 villages, with 8 deaths.

In Pathum Thani, flooding affected 182,290 households in 7 districts, 29 subdistricts and 510 villages.

Water levels were rising in both provinces.

Flooding in Nonthaburi covered 3 districts, 3 subdistricts and 3 villages, with water levels rising.

In Nakhon Pathom, 10,203 households were affected in 7 districts, 55 subdistricts and 302 villages.

Ratchaburi had 3,506 affected households in 7 districts, 41 subdistricts and 198 villages.

Water levels were rising in both provinces.

Eastern provinces

Nakhon Nayok had 28,028 affected households in 4 districts, 41 subdistricts and 397 villages.

Flooding in Prachin Buri affected 39,977 households in 7 districts, 61 subdistricts and 625 villages.

Chachoengsao had 26,169 affected households in 11 districts, 68 subdistricts and 556 villages.

Water levels were rising in all three provinces.

Sa Kaeo had 15,086 affected households in 9 districts, 32 subdistricts and 210 villages, with 6 deaths.

Flooding in Chon Buri affected 118,723 households in 10 districts, 78 subdistricts and 354 villages.

Water levels were rising in both provinces.

Rayong had 1,660 affected households in 2 districts, 8 subdistricts and 63 villages, with water levels stable.

In Chanthaburi, flooding affected 9,326 households in 6 districts, 21 subdistricts and 86 villages, with 2 deaths and falling water levels.

Trat had 1,310 affected households in 3 districts, 16 subdistricts and 78 villages, with water levels stable.

Northeast, South and Bangkok

In the Northeast, Buriram had 2,855 affected households in 4 districts, 30 subdistricts and 244 villages.

Chaiyaphum had 18 affected households in 2 districts, 9 subdistricts and 20 villages.

Flooding in Surin affected 200 households in 2 districts, 10 subdistricts and 65 villages.

Water levels were falling in all three provinces.

In the South, flooding in Chumphon covered one district, one subdistrict and 3 villages.

No people were affected, and water levels were falling.

Flooding in Bangkok affected 329,000 households, with 4 deaths and stable water levels.
