SET confirms Sept 28 trading despite two-day flood holiday

Thailand’s Cabinet has approved September 28–29 special holidays in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan amid flooding.

  • The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has confirmed it will operate with normal trading hours on September 28, despite a government-declared holiday for flooding.
  • Normal trading will proceed on all five of its exchanges: the SET, mai, TFEX, LiVEx, and the Thai Digital Assets Exchange (TDX).
  • In addition to trading, the Thailand Securities Depository (TSD) will also maintain its normal business hours for counter services on that day.
  • The SET has coordinated with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and member companies to ensure all systems and services for investors remain operational.

Thailand’s Cabinet has approved September 28–29, 2026 as special holidays in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan because of flooding. However, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has confirmed that trading and securities depository counter services will operate normally on Monday, September 28.

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced the holiday decision after chairing a special Cabinet meeting at Government House on Sunday (September 27) to address the flood emergency.

Anutin said the September 28–29 holidays covered government agencies and the private sector in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, while capital markets would continue operating.
