Siam Amazing Park has announced a six-month closure after flooding in Bangkok submerged almost the entire amusement and water park, Siam Park City Group chief executive Wuthichai Luangamornlert said on September 30, 2026.
Wuthichai put initial losses at no less than 100 million baht for the attraction, formerly known as Suan Siam, with flood damage compounded by lost business during a peak visitor period.
Five days of flooding damage Siam Amazing Park’s rides
Floodwater had covered almost 100% of Siam Amazing Park for five consecutive days, Wuthichai said. Continued flooding remained a risk, and the prolonged inundation had severely affected machinery, rides and the park’s artificial sea.
Describing the flooding at Siam Amazing Park as unprecedented, Wuthichai contrasted the current conditions with the major floods of 2011, when about 30% of the park was inundated. Days underwater had raised concerns about the internal systems of its rides and machinery.
The closure is costing Siam Amazing Park business during the school holidays, a peak season for visitor numbers, Wuthichai said. The flooding has also disrupted plans for year-end events.
Siam Amazing Park plans inspections and refurbishment
Siam Park City Group’s management agreed on the six-month shutdown to allow thorough inspections of the rides and refurbishment of all visitor areas, Wuthichai said.
Damage surveys at Siam Amazing Park will begin once water levels recede, Wuthichai explained. The findings will be used in talks with financial institutions about loans to fund the recovery.
Planned changes at Siam Amazing Park also include closing the zoo, which previously offered free admission, and coordinating the transfer of all its animals to the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, Wuthichai said.
Siam Amazing Park’s artificial sea needs months of repairs
Siam Amazing Park’s signature artificial sea requires a major overhaul expected to take at least three to four months, Wuthichai said.
Management intends to accelerate restoration throughout Siam Amazing Park so it can welcome visitors again before Songkran 2027, Wuthichai added.
