Heavy rain forecast for four Thai regions on October 6
The TMD’s heavy-rain forecast for October 6 identifies provinces in the North, Central region, East and South, as well as Bangkok and its vicinity:
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok and Phichit.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram, together with Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi and Trang.
Heavy rain remains possible in parts of Thailand on October 7
Heavy rain remains possible in parts of the North, Central region, East and South on October 7, according to the TMD forecast.
The TMD expects rainfall to increase again on October 9–13 in the East, Central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and South.
Residents in low-lying areas urged to take extra care
People in low-lying areas, near waterways, on foothills or in places where water has already accumulated are advised to take extra care if rain continues.
Weather conditions can change during the day, and people are advised to move to a safe place if thunder or strong winds develop.
Travellers are advised to check weather radar before leaving home, allow extra time for journeys and monitor rainfall during the day so they can adjust their plans.
