More than 300 households in Khao Yoi district, Phetchaburi, have been affected by severe flooding as deep and fast-flowing water spreads through communities, farmland and roads following persistent rainfall.
As of 10.21am on October 12, high flood levels continued to affect several communities, including Mu 2 Ban Wat Pho, Mu 4 Ban Bang Khem Phatthana and Mu 6 Ban Lang.
Residents were struggling with daily activities and travel as strong currents moved through some areas.
Older people, patients and residents requiring special assistance were among those needing close attention while flood conditions remained a concern.
Aerial images from Nong Chumphon Subdistrict showed floodwater covering wide areas, including residential communities, agricultural land and sections of local roads.
Continued rainfall in Phetchaburi has caused water to overflow into low-lying areas, community roads and areas surrounding homes.
Travel has become difficult on several routes, particularly where floodwater covers the road surface, while standing water remains in surrounding areas.
Authorities and relevant agencies are monitoring water levels and vulnerable locations while helping residents affected by the flooding.
Khao Yoi Subdistrict Municipality, the Border Patrol Police and local administrative organisations were among agencies distributing boxed meals and drinking water to flood-affected communities on October 12.
Residents in vulnerable areas have been urged to continue monitoring official warnings and move belongings and electrical equipment to higher ground.
People should avoid wading through floodwater or driving through areas with strong currents.
Authorities have also asked residents to immediately report any patients, older people or others unable to evacuate without assistance who remain trapped inside their homes so emergency teams can provide help.
