  • The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will waive tolls at 63 plazas on Friday, October 23, to mark the Chulalongkorn Memorial Day public holiday.
  • The toll exemption will be in effect for the entire day, from 12:01 AM until midnight.
  • The waiver applies to three specific expressways: Chalerm Maha Nakhon, Si Rat, and Udon Ratthaya.
  • The measure is intended to ease traffic congestion and reduce travel expenses for motorists during the holiday.

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will waive tolls at 63 plazas across three expressways in Bangkok and surrounding provinces on Friday, October 23, 2026, to mark Chulalongkorn Memorial Day, a public holiday.

Motorists will be able to use the designated expressways without paying tolls from 12.01am until midnight on October 23. The one-day exemption is intended to reduce travel expenses and ease congestion at toll plazas during the holiday.

Three expressways covering 63 toll plazas included

The EXAT toll waiver covers the Chalerm Maha Nakhon, Si Rat and Udon Ratthaya expressways, with 63 toll plazas included across the three routes:

  • Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway: Din Daeng–Bang Na–Dao Khanong, covering 21 toll plazas.
  • Si Rat Expressway: Chaeng Watthana–Bang Khlo–Srinagarindra, covering 32 toll plazas.
  • Udon Ratthaya Expressway: Bang Pa-in–Pak Kret, covering 10 toll plazas.

Motorists travelling on the three designated expressways during the specified period will not have to pay tolls at the covered plazas. The exemption applies only to these routes, rather than the entire expressway network.

Toll waiver aims to reduce holiday travel costs and congestion

EXAT said the toll exemption is designed to ease the financial burden on motorists, reduce vehicle queues at toll collection points and improve traffic flow during the public holiday.

The measure follows government and Ministry of Transport policy under amended concession agreements involving EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), and Northern Bangkok Expressway Company Limited (NECL).

The concession arrangements provide for toll exemptions on designated public holidays, allowing motorists to travel on the specified expressways without paying the usual charges.

Motorists planning journeys on October 23 are advised to check their intended routes and make travel arrangements in advance to ensure a convenient and safe journey.
