The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will temporarily divert eight bus routes on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) to accommodate road closures for the Navaratri procession at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, commonly known as Wat Khaek, on Bangkok’s Silom Road.
Traffic restrictions around the temple will begin in stages from 4pm and are scheduled to continue until 4am on Wednesday, October 21. The BMTA said the service adjustments were intended to reduce disruption to passengers during the annual procession.
Silom and Surasak roads will be the first affected by closures, starting at 4pm on October 20, according to the BMTA’s traffic notice. Restrictions on Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road and North Sathorn Road will begin later in the evening.
The BMTA has identified the following eight services for temporary route changes on October 20. The descriptions below identify their regular routes.
The BMTA apologised for the inconvenience and advised passengers using the affected services to plan their journeys in advance.
Passengers can obtain diversion details and further travel information from the BMTA Contact Centre on 1348, available 24 hours a day, through the official LINE account @bmta, or via the BMTA Prompt Plus Facebook page.
