The Thai Meteorological Department’s forecast for Saturday (November 7, 2026) to Friday (November 13) indicates that rain will ease across upper Thailand on November 8, although isolated thundershowers will remain, mainly in western parts of the North and Central region.
A high-pressure system, or cool air mass, from China is covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, bringing easterly winds across upper Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.
Upper Thailand will see little rain, cooler conditions and strong winds on November 9–13, with temperatures falling by 3–5°C as another fairly strong high-pressure system from China extends over upper Thailand and the South China Sea.
Rainfall will increase in the South on November 8–13, with heavy rain in many areas and isolated very heavy rain as easterly winds strengthen over the Gulf of Thailand, the South and the Andaman Sea.
Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will exceed 2 metres in thundershowers throughout this period.
People in the South should beware of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which could trigger flash floods, rapid runoff and mudslides, particularly on foothill slopes near waterways and in low-lying areas.
Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea should check their routes, navigate with caution and avoid areas with thundershowers throughout the period.
