Kunlavut faces Chou in Asian Games team quarters at 1pm Sept 22

Thailand’s Kunlavut “View” Vitidsarn is scheduled to face Chou Tien Chen in the opening singles match of the men’s team quarter-final against Chinese Taipei at the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday, September 22. The tie starts at 1pm Thai time in Aichi, Japan.

Badminton at the 20th Asian Games runs from September 20–29 at Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium in Ichinomiya, Aichi prefecture. Thailand’s badminton campaign at the Games includes team events from September 20–24, followed by individual events from September 25–29.

Kunlavut set to open men’s quarter-final at 1pm

Kunlavut is listed to take on Chou in the first match of Thailand’s 1pm quarter-final against Chinese Taipei. The reported order of play is:

Thailand’s women are scheduled to face China in their team quarter-final at 7.30am Thai time on September 22, with Ratchanok Intanon listed to open against Wang Zhiyi.

• Women’s doubles: Hathaithip Mijad and Napapakorn Tungkasatan v Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning.

Thai men advance after 3–0 win over Macau

Thailand advanced to the men’s team quarter-finals with a 3–0 win over Macau on September 21. Kunlavut won the opening singles match in three games before Panitchaphon and Puritat followed with straight-game victories:

• Kunlavut Vitidsarn, ranked world No. 2, beat No. 276 Pui Pang Fong 21–19, 20–22, 21–12 to give Thailand a 1–0 lead.
• Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul, ranked No. 17, defeated No. 1,005 Pui Chi Chon 21–8, 21–7 to extend the advantage to 2–0.
• Puritat Arree, ranked No. 292, secured the deciding point against Leong Iok Chong, winning 21–14, 21–12.
