Laem Son National Park in Ranong has announced that it is fully open to Thai and international visitors, offering Andaman beaches and islands, coral snorkelling, viewpoint walks and camping. Laem Son says visitor facilities and safety arrangements are ready for the tourism season. All park staff have undergone training in visitor safety, and hygiene preparations have also been made.
On the mainland, Laem Son’s Bang Ben Beach and Praphat Beach offer stretches of sand shaded by coastal casuarina trees.
For island visits, Laem Son is highlighting Ko Khang Khao for snorkelling among coral reefs that the park describes as well preserved. Ko Kam Tok features Ao Khao Kwai, where visitors can enjoy views of a distinctive semicircular beach, while Ko Yipun offers a tidal sandbar.
Camping options at Laem Son include watching the sunset at Bang Ben Beach and spending the night on Ko Kam Tok. Visitors can also walk to natural viewpoints as part of the park’s range of outdoor activities.
Laem Son says the full opening is intended to promote conservation-based tourism in Ranong, bring income to local communities and encourage visitors to help protect natural resources and the environment.
