No, really, "Naresuan 6" is supposed to be the end

Filmmaker MR Chalermchatri “Adam” Yukol says that folks heard wrong that “The Legend of King Naresuan Part V” would be the finale of the long-running historical movie franchise.
No one on the production team, especially Adam’s dad, MC Chatrichalerm “Than Mui” Yukol, ever said the fifth part would be the last.
And work on part six is progressing well, he says. “My father wants a good ending and that is why we decided to make part six the last.”
However, unlike the other entries of the lavishly mounted series, “Naresuan 6” faces budget constraints.
There are also challenges in casting as the franchise nears its second decade. After all, while the historical characters might remain the same on screen, in real life, time marches on and lives change. But Adam insists there have been no major obstacles.
Actress Taksaorn “Aff” Techanarong, whose character Maneechan was crowned queen in part five, is pregnant, but that’s no setback, Adam says. In fact, it’s a plus, he adds. “The filming was almost done,” he said, and the scenes with Aff were shot early in the schedule.
The biggest casting shake-up will be the introduction of a new character played by Temfah “Pan Pan” Krissanyuth, daughter of former singer Thitima “Waen” Sutsoonthorn. “She is trained in gymnastics and with her abilities, she will deliver a fresh approach to action scenes,” Adam says.
Pan Pan will muscle in on territory formerly held by Intira “Sai” Charoenpura, who as hilltribe warrior princess Lurkin, was the series’ leading action heroine. “Sai’s character died in part five and we couldn’t bring her back,” Adam says. “Pan Pan will fulfill that role. My dad is really impressed with Pan Pan’s abilities.”
So when can we expect to see “The Legend of King Naresuan Part VI”, and will it really be the end of the series?
