Spring arrives in Japan – and at Kisso

Spring arrives in Japan – and at Kisso

The Westin Grande Sukhumvit’s Japanese restaurant Kisso is serving three new seasonal dishes inspired by Japan’s famously romantic spring scenes of blooming sakura blossoms.

“To everything a season” is the motto for refreshing dishes that make the most of springtime ingredients, such as firm-fleshed aji (horse mackerel), always tastiest at this time of year.
In Horse Mackerel Tartare, the fish is grilled simply with rock salt, fried in breadcrumbs and served with yuzu tartar sauce. The price ranges from Bt550 to Bt680.
Kagoshima Wagyu Beef Grade A5 comes from cattle raised only in Kagoshima Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu and is greatly admired for its wonderful marbling. It also boasts a higher ratio of mono-unsaturated fats and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and is lower in cholesterol than most beef. More importantly, it’s exceptionally rich in flavour and immensely tender.
Kisso presents prime cuts of Kagoshima beef charcoal grilled, shabu-shabu style and tightly wrapped maki-style with unagi eel. These dishes cost Bt900 to Bt1,950.
The restaurant is open daily from noon to 2.30pm and from 6 to 10.30. Find out more at (02) 207 8000 or www.KissoJapaneseRestaurant.com.
