The best breakfast in town
Clinton Street Baking Company, an American restaurant chain famous for its blueberry pancakes, invites diners to check out its new all-day breakfast dishes.
They include Smoked Salmon Scramble with soft scrambled eggs, house smoked salmon, and scallion cream cheese, with dressed greens and seven-grain toast and Truffle Fried Eggs – two fried eggs on a bed of crispy bacon lardons with fingerling potatoes and roasted vegetables drizzled with black truffle vinaigrette. Last but not least is the Mac-N-Cheese with Truffle, a three cheese blend of Quesofresco, Jalapeño Jack and Cheddar served with truffle on top.
Thailand’s first Clinton Street is spread over 212 square metres of Siam Paragon. Its 70 seats are spread generously around two levels decked out in modern-casual red walls and earth-tone fittings.
Famous for light, puffy pancakes and crispy fried chicken, the chain began as a modest 32-seat bistro opened in 2001 by chef Neil Kleinberg and his wife Dede Lahman on New York’s Lower East Side.
The best of American home cooking and French culinary skills merged in what many diners quickly decided were the best baked breakfast and brunch goodies around. The Clinton Street Omelette made with cheddar cheese and amazing buttermilk biscuits with tomato jam draws queues of early birds. New York magazine subsequently declared their pancakes the best in the Big Apple and the Lonely Planet travel guide crowned Clinton Street “New York’s No 1 Breakfast Spot”.
