He said the company was now in the top four in the townhouse segment, behind market leader Asian Property Development, Sansiri and Supalai.
Pruksa expects to rank second next year with targeted townhouse sales of Bt2.8 billion, up 12 per cent from Bt2.5 billion this year.
"We also target that our townhouse sales will reach Bt7 billion in 2017, making us the market leader in this segment," he added.
To boost its townhouse sales this year and next, the company has introduced a new brand called The Connect.
Pruksa has 11 new projects worth a combined Bt8 billion under the brand this year. Nine have already been launched, the latest being the Bt688-million The Connect Up 3 on Ring-Road-Bangkhan.
The other two projects, located on Rattanthibet and Chaeng |Wattana roads, will be launched in the final quarter.
The Connect Up 3 on Ring-Road-Bangkhan has 233 three-storey units, starting at Bt2.79 million. The project already has presales worth Bt136 million, Piya said.
He said the project could benefit from the government policy to provide a tax break for first-time home-buyers.
However, he believes the scheme will not have a great impact on overall demand at the lower end of the market, as it will only benefit home-buyers who pay income tax.
The scheme is nonetheless expected to drive business growth in the final three months of the year, after the market dropped about 20 per cent in the current quarter due to a vacuum as all parties awaited details of the new government's policy, Piya said.
