Promotions aplenty at upcoming shows

Home-buyers will benefit from a host of special promotions offered by developers and others at major property-related exhibitions being held over the remainder of the year.

The main events are the “Home Buyers Expo 2013”, “NPA Grand Sale” and “Homebuilder Expo”, which are being held from August 22-25 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, and the Business Housing Association’s “11th Housing at 4 Directions” show from August 29 to September 4 at CentralPlaza Lat Phrao.
The Government Housing Bank is also launching a special promotion on July 20 at all branches with a view to sharply reducing the more than 3,000 non-performing assets on its books.
The lure is zero interest for the first year of a loan taken out to purchase one of the NPAs.
Meanwhile, property firms themselves also plan to run special promotional campaigns in a bid to boost sales during the rest of the year.
Borisut Kasinpila, managing director of Home Buyers’ Guide, the organiser of the “Home Buyers Expo 2013”, said more than 300 new residential projects worth over Bt100 billion would be showcased at the show, which would also feature special promotions from developers and commercial banks.
“We target more than 10,000 visitors, and sales during and after the event exceeding Bt2.5 billion,” he said.
Moreover, the “Homebuilders Expo” and “NPA Grand Sale”, which are being held at the same time, will boost the number of visitors and sales in the property market during the current quarter at a time when the economy is growing more slowly, he added.
Meanwhile, the Homebuilder Association targets sales growth between 10 per cent and 15 per cent from total sale Bt2.46 billion in last year.
Seacon Home general manager Supitcha Chaipipat said the company was targeting sales of Bt360 million from the event, Bt240 million generated by the company itself and the rest from its Compact Home unit, by offering discounts of up to 20 per cent.
Supicha, who is a member of the Homebuilder Association, said the organisation could not say for sure whether sales this year would exceed the 2012 level, as the market now faced a labour shortage and firms would not commit to the delivery of homes beyond their capacity to build them.
