The research hub, which the company says is the first of its kind in Asean, is set to open in mid-November. “The opening of this facility marks a key moment for the building sector in Thailand,” said Visit Malaisirirat, chief executive of MQDC.
Singh Intrachooto, a designer and architect known for his work on using recycled material in design and construction, will lead research at the new facility, heading MQDC’s Research & Innovation for Sustainability Centre team.
“RISC will conduct research under the principle of ‘sustainnovation’,” said Singh. “We will be finding ways to achieve environmental sustainability while boosting well-being, health, and economic development.”
