Toyota has introduced the entry-level automatic gearbox version for the Fortuner 2.4-litre PPV with a pricetag of Bt1.299 million.

A Thai man and a Chinese man, who had pulled over to the side of a road in Pathum Thani province early on Sunday to attend to a call of nature and were returning to their Toyota Fortuner, were killed when a trailer truck crashed into their SUV.
