The Covid-19 crisis has taken a severe toll on Thailand’s jewellery business, including the silver industry.

The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT) says the export value of gems and jewellery grew by 29 per cent in the past seven months despite a swarm of international trade conflicts and public protests in Hong Kong, a key hub for the sector.
