Japanese police have arrested a 35-year-old Taiwanese man accused of smuggling more than 3 kilogrammes of methamphetamine from Thailand to Fukuoka Airport, with the drugs allegedly concealed in beverage packaging and valued at around 160 million yen, or about 33 million baht.

Police have arrested a Taiwanese man and charged him for being involved with a call-centre scam that defrauded people in Thailand by convincing them to make bank transfers of more than Bt9.5 million, police said.
