Thailand is hot. As a tropical country, it is no stranger to long periods of intolerable heat. In recent years, however, temperatures here have surged, with heat index estimates suggesting we could see temperatures soar above 50°C.

Historical deaths and recent case figures have renewed concern over heatstroke as forecasters warn of prolonged hot to very hot weather across Thailand this summer.
