Chiang Mai’s iconic “motionless escalator” at Waroros Market finally moves again after 50 years, delighting vendors and reviving nostalgia for locals.

In a bid to reclaim footpaths and traffic lanes in the popular Waroros Market (better known as Kad Luang) in Chiang Mai's Muang district, 33rd Military Circle officers joined Nakhon Chiang Mai Municipality officials on Monday to visit the area.
