The Royal Thai Navy says its request for Cambodia to consider dismantling a breakwater near marine border marker No. 73 was raised through the Regional Border Committee well before the border clashes, rejecting claims it used military pressure.

The Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning has allocated a budget to construct a 604-metre-long coastal breakwater to prevent further erosion of Taengmo Beach on Koh Sukhon in Trang’s Palian district.
