Prison guards allegedly involved in the suicide of a former police officer while in custody will face prosecution under the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act BE 2565 (2022), said a subcommittee for investigating torture and enforced disappearance.

The Supreme Court on Friday sentenced former police officer Pol Colonel Charnchai Netiratkan to two years’ imprisonment for offering a bribe to a Constitutional Court judge in a bid to prevent dissolution of the now-defunct Thai Rak Thai Party in 2006.
