In the first-ever direct comparison between the two leading Covid antivirals molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir (Paxlovid), researchers report in last week's Lancet Infectious Diseases that while both drugs worked, nirmatrelvir was more effective, clearing the virus from the throat more rapidly than molnupiravir. 

Thai-made Covid-19 antiviral drug Molnupiravir will be made available at all branches of Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) pharmacies this week.
