The rice absorption scheme has been frozen after legal advice warned it would unconstitutionally commit the next government to major expenditure.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday resolved to further investigate a corruption allegation related to the Democrat Party's rice-distribution policy, NACC secretary-general Sansern Poljiak said yesterday.
