Book lovers will soon have a new destination in central Bangkok when TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE opens its first branch in Thailand on October 20, 2026, at The Storeys, Level G, in One Bangkok.
The Japanese book and lifestyle retailer will introduce its contemporary bookshop concept to Thailand, creating a space where browsing can become an experience that lasts all day.
TSUTAYA is known for its warm, minimalist interiors, diverse book selection and integration of literature with culture, art, cafés and everyday lifestyle products. Its stores have become destinations for readers, professionals, creatives and anyone looking for inspiration.
The One Bangkok branch will adopt the concept “The Waves of Wisdom”, expressed through airy, relaxed, Japanese-style design with a natural feel. Spanning more than 1,000 square metres across two floors, it will offer over 50,000 books and magazines in Thai and English, covering literature, business, art, lifestyle and children’s reading.
Rather than relying solely on conventional book categories, TSUTAYA’s Lifestyle Curation approach connects reading with personal interests and ways of living.
Books will be displayed alongside stationery, everyday items and design-led products from Japan, encouraging visitors to discover new ideas and products as they browse.
The approach turns a trip to the bookshop into an opportunity to explore connections between reading and daily life.
The children’s section will feature more than 15,000 books, complemented by a manga zone and licensed merchandise from popular anime and manga titles.
Designed to appeal to families and fans of Japanese culture, the space will give children, teenagers and other enthusiasts somewhere to spend time with their favourite stories and characters.
A dedicated Thai Art Exhibition Corner will host rotating exhibitions showcasing emerging Thai artists.
By bringing books, art and creativity together, the store aims to offer discoveries beyond its bookshelves and give visitors another reason to return.
The BOOK & CAFE area will provide a place to pause with a favourite drink between browsing sessions.
It brings together Wawee Coffee, the coffee brand from Chiang Mai, and Cocoa Dutch, the cocoa brand from the Netherlands, with drinks and snacks designed to complement time spent in the store.
The café adds to the branch’s ambition to be somewhere visitors can linger, rather than simply make a purchase and leave.
TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE One Bangkok is positioning itself as more than a retail space. Visitors will be invited to read, work, meet friends, relax, enjoy art or discover something new at their own pace.
Combining Japanese design and bookshop culture with Thai creativity and café offerings, the branch will open on October 20, 2026, at The Storeys, Level G, One Bangkok.
