Bangkok’s Yaowarat is preparing for the 2026 Vegetarian Festival, with the traditional nine-day vegetarian observance running from October 10–18, while the main Yaowarat festival runs from October 9–18.

One of Bangkok’s best-known street-food districts, Yaowarat is set to welcome Thai and international visitors for vegetarian food, religious activities and the annual festival atmosphere.

Officially known as the Yaowarat Vegetarian Festival 2026, the event will be centred on the Chinatown Gate at Odeon Circle on Yaowarat Road.

Visitors can expect illuminated decorations along Yaowarat Road, vegetarian food stalls on both sides of the street and a procession featuring deity palanquins from 22 Chinese shrines in the Yaowarat area.

The procession will travel along Yaowarat Road from the Wat Mangkon area to the Chinatown Gate at Odeon Circle.

Yaowarat Road will be closed to traffic for the opening ceremony on October 10 from 4pm to 10pm. The closure covers the section from the Chinatown Gate at Odeon Circle to the intersection of Yaowarat Road and Lamphun Chai Road.
