More than 42 billion baht or 52 per cent more year-on-year has been spent during this year’s Vegetarian Festival, which runs from September 25 to October 4.
A survey conducted by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce showed that people are willing to spend a little extra on vegetarian food despite being worried about the high cost of living.
The plant-based food business is also picking up in other parts of the world.
