US welcomes Thai–Cambodian ceasefire, urges full compliance
US State Department said the truce, reached after the General Border Committee meeting, should be implemented immediately in line with the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord.
The US State Department released on Saturday (December 27) a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcoming Cambodia and Thailand’s announcement that they had reached a ceasefire agreement ending the fighting along the border following the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting.
He urged both countries to immediately honour their commitments and fully implement the terms of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord.
