SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2024

The first tourist train running from Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province to Vientiane in Laos will set off on its debut journey on May 8.

The tourist train will serve as a platform for tourism interaction and exchanges between Guizhou and Southeast Asia, thereby promoting the high-quality development of Guizhou's tourism industry.

The carriages of the train are equipped with shower rooms and mobile charging facilities. Additionally, the entertainment carriages offer a range of services such as karaoke, cafés and bars.

Tourists from Guizhou are allowed to reserve their tickets for this eight-day trip through local travel agencies or online platforms. During the trip, tourists will visit several places in Laos, including Vientiane, the country's biggest city; Vang Vieng, a paradise for outdoor sports; Luang Phabang, the city of cultural heritages; and Kwang Si Waterfall, the country's famous waterfall.

Moreover, new travel routes within Guizhou will be launched for Southeast Asian tourists.

The train is expected to run on a regular monthly schedule, with extra trains added based on passenger flow.
