Police initially suspected the killing of Da-oh Mamah, in tambon Ban Klang, Panare district, stemmed from a personal conflict although they did not totally rule out the involvement of insurgents, Pol Captain Reungsak Chatsuksiridech said.
A police probe found that the victim was walking for exercise after his morning prayers when he was gunned down. When the first gunshot missed him, the victim ran but the shooter is suspected to have run after him and gunned him down. The victim suffered three bullet wounds on his torso and died at the scene.
