'Allianz Direct' channel to sell products on TV

Ayudhya Allianz CP Life Plc reinforces its leading position in innovative insurance products and services with the launch of "Allianz Direct" channel to sell insurance products on TV, under its Direct Marketing Channel.

By the end of the year, its expected sales through this channel will be Bt15 million.
The first product to be sold on the channel, created to provide clear and easy-to-understand communication, is a life insurance plan for elderly called ‘Senior Suk Jai’. This target group spends more time watching television at home than other groups. The company chose the well-known actor ‘Sorapong Chatri’ as the presenter to attract and urge them to make a call after watching its TV commercial.
Bryan Smith, chief officer of direct marketing, bancassurance and group business, said that based on the Thai consumers’ behaviour study, television continued to be the most popular medium. Selling products through television have also been growing and expanding to both via free TV and cable TV. The company is convinced that the channnel shows great potential in providing information on products to reach target audience.
"Such product is designed to be simple, easy to understand, and able to meet the needs of the target group. The company is confident that this will be another channel to help strengthen our current direct marketing channel," he said.
In May 2011, the company launched "Allianz Direct" on cable TV and receives good responses with over 10,000 phone calls. After the trial, it expands the airing to free broadcast TV.
