Ogilvy & Mather shines at BAD 2011

Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency triumphed at the recent Bangkok Art Director (BAD 2011) awards, collecting 58 of the 225 honours in various categories including a special award, "Best of Show for Digital Media".

McCann Worldwide picked up the second-highest number of awards with 21, followed by the Leo Burnett Group with 18 and Grey Thailand with 14. Creative Juice\\G1 Bangkok and Y&R Thailand received 13 awards each.
The event was held yesterday evening by the Bangkok Art Directors’ Association, and is considered Thailand’s biggest event recognising creativity in advertising. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the awards.
Under this year’s “BAD to the Bone” theme, the event rewarded creative works in different categories for those in the advertising industry and university students who attend workshops during the event. This year two more categories were included, taking in direct marketing campaigns and sales promotions.
Other categories include television commercials, print, out?doors, ambience, posters, radio, graphics, digital and craft TV, craft print, and craft radio.
Apart from the Best of the Show for Digital Media granted to the winner for the Amway advertisement titled “Flying Book”, TBWA won Bad to the Bone awards and Best of the Show for a radio spot for Tiger Balm, named “Dangerous”. Genesis 12 received Best of the Show for print advertising for Srisawad.
Suvit Jaturiyasajagul, executive creative director at Grey (Thailand), and Wichit Jiamsirikarn, who with Suvit is co-president of the Bangkok Art Directors’ Association, said the event had been organised in line with student workshops since September.
