Rojana pays Bt2.17bn for flood wall

Italian-Thai Development has signed a Bt2.17 billion contract to construct the flood-prevention system for Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya.

In a filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, it said that the contract involves a wall, main entrance and a bridge. The work is scheduled for completion in 7 months.
Rojana is one of seven industrial estates in Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani which had been severely hit by the floods.  All 198 plants in the industrial estate suspended operations, including that of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co Ltd, as flood level was over 5 metres high.
Executives of the company earlier said that the wall height would be over 6 metres high.
