NBC named as Google AdWords Premier SME Partner

Google has appointed Nation Broadcasting Corp as a Google AdWords Premier SME Partner to support small and medium-sized enterprises that want to promote their business via online media.

Ariya Panomyong, country business manager of Google (Thailand), yesterday said the company had appointed NBC to distribute and sell Google online media to SMEs wishing to pursue this form of business promotion.

"NBC is becoming our main partner for selling Google AdWords to SME businesses. Thailand has about 3 million SMEs, and the Internet is important for Thai business to become more competitive and create benefits for them as the Asean Economic Community approaches, and enable them to expand their business base to the world," he said.

NBC is a multimedia company that can run Google AdWords to its audience and explain online media to new SMEs, he said, adding that NBC also has an experienced sales team in this field.

"SMEs are a very big channel. There are 3 million such companies in Thailand, and that is why Google SMEs AdWords is important for us," Ariya said. "Moreover, although the overall Thai media budget is valued at Bt100 billion a year, only 1-2 per cent is for online media. Compare this with Singapore, whose budget proportion for online media is about 7 per cent, while in the US as well as Europe the level is 30 per cent.

"That means there is high potential growth in the Thai market."

NBC president Adisak Limprungpatanakij said the company had set up a special online media team to take care of Google AdWords |business.

NBC will provide online media, consultancy and a total solution as a one-stop service to SMEs that want to promote their business via online media, at a starting price of Bt100 per time.

The broadcaster expects to reach about 100 new AdWords customers per month, or around 1,000 by the end of the year, he said.
