Cabinet OK measure to protect car buyers

The Cabinet on Tuesday approved measures to protect individual car owners, as proposed by the ministries of Transport and Commerce.

The Transport Ministry proposed the nullification of the nationwide registration of vehicles, assembled from old body.
Deputy government spokesman Chalitrat Chantarubeksa said that the measure will cover four types of vehicles - passenger cars, privately-owned vans for 7-12 passengers, individually-owned pickups, and individually-owned motorcycles.
The Commerce Ministry also proposed the ban on used body imports.
