PTTEP sees higher output from Bongkot project

PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) has completed the construction of its South Bongkot gas field as planned, which would increase supply.

The field is a major part of the Bongkot project in the Gulf of Thailand. Delivering gas at the rate of 50 – 70 million cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) and condensate at the rate of 3,000 – 4,000 barrels per day (bpd) at present, the supply is expected to rise to 320 MMSCFD and 9,000 bpd of condensate within the second quarter of this year, said President and CEO Anon Sirisaengtaksin.
The field has been developed since 2008. Its processing production platform has a capacity of 350 MMSCFD of natural gas and 9,000 bpd of condensate. These production rates will increase the overall capacity of Bongkot project to over 900 MMSCFD which will serve about 20 per cent of Thailand's natural gas demand.
The field is operated by PTTEP, which owns 44.44 per cent. The remaining stake is owned by Total E&P Thailand Co Ltd (33.3333 per cent) and BG Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (22.2222%).
