L’Oreal Thailand is directing its help at women, its target clients. A memorandum of understanding was signed this week to provide 120 professional beauty development scholarships to flood-affected women. The “Beautiful Tomorrows Year Two” project will be launched in cooperation with partners led by the Friend in Need (of “PA”) Volunteer Foundation Thai Red Cross, Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
Part of a post-flood-relief long-term measure for affected victims, the project aims to help rebuild the lives of women affected by floods by providing them with career-building skills. Under the programme, they will get scholarships for training in a professional beauty course.
This will be sponsored by Maybelline New York and Matrix brands under L’Oreal Thailand’s Consumer Products Division and Professional Products Division. The training courses consist of 80 scholarships for hair-dressing courses at the Centre of Welfare and Vocational Training for Women in Nonthaburi province and 40 scholarships for make-up courses at the Social Development Institute in Pathum Thani province. The women will also be awarded an official certificate by L’Oreal Thailand and the Social Development and Human Security Ministry.
