StanChart offers service guarantee to boost sales

Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) has decided to focus on improving efficiency and productivity in its personal banking area, while aiming to boost consumer-banking sales by 15-20 per cent through its newly introduced Service Guarantee.

Pattarapong Raktabutr, senior vice president, said: “This year we are upgrading our existing branches, improving their efficiency and raising productivity.”
The bank yesterday launched a “Service Guarantee” campaign to enhance service quality and boost efficiency in seven areas of financial services.
“We target a rise of 15-20 per cent [in sales] from this Service Guarantee campaign,” Pattarapong said.
Under its Service Guarantee offer, the bank will notify customers of all account activities via mobile text messaging, as well as completing fund transfers in terms of personal loans and mortgages within 48 hours and within three days for business loans, he said.
Previously, it took the bank three or four days to approve personal loans and five to seven days for business loans.
The new service is based on a recent survey on customers’ expectation, which showed that clients need swift and accurate service as well as efficiency and innovative products.
“Providing online services is our strategic direction,” Pattarapong explained, noting that the one point that differentiated banks was how quickly they could access customers.
Standard Chartered currently has 600,000 consumer-banking accounts. It has 27 branches in Thailand, of which 24 are in Bangkok and the rest in the city’s vicinity.
