Professor Toemsakdi Krishnamra Director of Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University Chairman of Sasin Bangkok Forum International Advisory Board Chairman of Sasin Bangkok Forum Organising Committee
Welcome to the first Sasin Bangkok Forum. It is with great pleasure that Sasin hosts this forum
of public policy makers, business leaders, scholars and opinion makers at the Plaza Athenee Hotel,
This invitation-only event is designed to facilitate open dialogue and promote collective action among
participants. It will also foster a sense of community and encourage networking in the smaller, more
private sessions. The diverse expertise of forum participants, drawn from across the Asia Pacific
region and beyond, will promote forward-thinking, insightful and valuable perspectives on the strategic
challenges of the region and the world.
Our theme for this year's Sasin Bangkok Forum is “Asia In Transformation.” As power shifts from
West to East, and new technologies and innovative strategies emerge, our world is transformed.
In the midst of significant global economic and political uncertainty, ASEAN has become a
catalyst for growth in trade, services and investment, not just within Asia, but also throughout
the world.
As a leading graduate business school in Asia, with extensive academic and alumni networks,
Sasin has organized this forum to examine these significant changes and to consider the
dynamic and complex business issues faced by the region and the world. We trust that this forum
will result in collective efforts to find workable solutions to these challenges.
